Any last comments?

Okay, gang, last chance. I’m giving away five e-books to commenters in July and here is the semi-final choice for the cover of All Your Pretty Dreams. To recap, the story is about a young man who goes home for the summer to play the accordion in his family polka band and reboot his life, and a young woman who is leading a bee study in town. It’s an homage to Pride and Prejudice (no zombies involved) with the genders switched.
Thanks to everyone who has put in their two cents so far! You have helped me immensely. Here’s what I’ve worked up, based on your input. (Sorry if you don’t see your favorite design here… I’ll be glad to oblige your e-reader with your choice if you win the free book!)
Let me know what you think about this cover. Thanks!
I like this cover! It’s different and makes you think a bit!

Thanks, Tobi!
Love the beehive!
Thanks, Denice! I tried to make the bees non-threatening!
Now if you’d just put the accordion on top of the haystacks…. :} I like this one too.
I like this cover and the atmosphere that we feel. A slight drawback on the beehive and the branch. I see an aspect whirlwind, intense activity but the graphic seems slightly too just taken from the computer compare to the others parts of the picture! 🙂
Finally bravo Lise. Une couverture qui donne envie de rentrer dans l’univers du livre!
I know what you mean about the beehive, it is more cartoon-ish. Maybe I can work on that. (Maybe. My design skills are stretched thin as it is!) I couldn’t find a photo of real bees that would show up very well….
Seeing this on the shelf, the cover would capture my attention. It isn’t the kind of book I would usually read, but if I were looking for a gift for my wife, it would be just right. Given the huge number of bad covers, it’s obvious that creating compelling covers isn’t easy.
Since you seem to know what works, you can take a shot at my novel cover anytime -:)
I don’t really know what works, David! If you find somebody who does, let me know. Marketing is a crapshoot!
